Japanese DSiware got a new RPG a few days ago. The five dollar retail probably says it all but the art is nice and the modern setting reminds me of Mother/Earthbound.

sad face. the looks nice. reminds me of fantasy life. we'll never get these.
found a little description of sepas-channel.
"In Sepas Channel, you play as four main characters, advancing through a story set in the closed off Sunshine City and centered on a radio broadcast from a mysterious DJ named Sepas-chan. The four characters have lost their memories, and your adventure involves seeking out their identities while also searching for the truth behind some strange occurrences that are taking place in Sunshine City.
You advance through the game by switching off between these four characters, referred to as "channels." You'll need to use the channel change feature to get past some obstacles that can only be cleared by certain characters. You'll be able to build up the characters by distributing points to such parameters as attack strength, defense, speed and mental strength. Even after distributing the points, you can redistribute them to change your character's abilities when the upcoming battle calls for it."
Capcom published the original Shantae, but WayForward made it. This isn't just the US release, it's the only release so far. It just took forever! WayForward isn't a big company and this isn't a money maker.
Level 5 has been quiet on Fantasy Life, hopefully it wasn't cancelled.
Due out in late October Nintendo's Art Academy looks like a fun program to screw around with ala Flipnote or Korg DS. Originally released on DSiware, the retail version is more fleshed out but cuts your ablity to export pictures to SD (hoping this is fixed for the US release).
Art Academy Japanese overview:
No publisher for like forever. It was originally supposed to be a DS cart game, but they had to self-publish on DSiWare.
But it was a GBA game at one point, even. And GameCube. It's been kicking around forever.
Nah, just published.Quote:
Also I thought this game/series was originally made by Capcom or am I missing something?
There's a decent chance I'll be getting a DSi XL in the near future. Anyone have it? Thoughts?
No major complaints here. It's not as cramped as normal DSi/Lite and the screen is very nice. On the downside the casing really shows fingerprints (much like a PSP) and they could have added more memory. It holds about 5-6 DSiware titles before you are juggling them to a SD card.
With the price just recently having dropped to $170 I decided to pick one up. The selection at local stores is really slim as it took a few calls to find a burgandy colored one. Of the stores I visited they each only had 3-5 units in stock - mostly bronze and a couple midnight blue. I'd been hoping that the XLs would languish on shleves like the GBA Micros did, where they'd be sold for under $100, but it seems like retailers might clear out stock at the new $169.99 price.
I've had the original DS and the DSlite and will say the XL is much more comfortable and has a more appealing design and proportions.
The d-pad still leaves a lot to be desired.
The larger screens are great, but some text looks really bad.
