Luigi's Mansion is still great aside from the FAQ-necessitating mice.
Not a platformer, but she'd probably like Duck Amuck. It's basically a toy for the DS and there's no losing.
Peach is great, but I think it had a relatively low print-run and is pricey now.
Starfy is more recent, maybe even easier (to find and to play).
I thought the Gianna Sisters game was much easier than NSMB and Super Princess Peach. I'll try to think of more, I've been giving my niece games for her DS since she was like 5.
Mighty Milky Way is utterly enchanting. The entire game is so fresh weird from the rampant planet destruction to your little French speaking green skin alien girl. Hopefully the challenge ramps up soon though...
I really want to play it. I've been listening to the soundtrack and i love the music so much.
which is right here
i like the references to the Mighty Flip Champs soundtrack. which is also included with the MMW soundtrack.
I sent in the DSi i sold to Thief for R&L trigger repair and got it back today. The triggers were a little squishy for 2 seconds, but after that i'm impressed, it's fixed! You'll probably find out from one of us if it stops working again!
$18+$3 return shipping + just about $4 to send it. So around $25 to get the whole thing fixed, and there's a 60-day warranty. I mailed it last Wednesday night, it arrived today. It's well worth it if you love your DS EXCEPT FOR THE TRIGGERS NOT WORKING.

Also, it's been mentioned before but I'm sure it was missed. It's not dirt and crap getting in the triggers, it's the connection corroding. If you're good at soldering, you can fix it yourself for about $5 plus tools. The trigger buttons are tiny so you should be good at soldering and have steady hands if you go that way.
