I started this game on hard but honestly this game is so brutally unfair at times that it's probably not even worth it. I don't know of any actual benefits you get from playing it on hard mode and knowing that any mistake or even a bit of bad luck can be the death of the main character in one shit is pretty up there on the list of "That can really fucking suck".
Is the hard mode for those who have completed the game and restart with those powered up characters?
Doesn't have to be, you can play through it from level 1, and you can't import your leveled up characters from the first game. I'd like to play through it with my powered up characters just so that the last boss fight is a challenge.Quote:

I mean the only time this game is difficult, is when it's unfairly difficult. In hard mode it's just ridiculous. You can still have fights where the enemy can get advantage. And they can one shot you with a spell you're weak against or even not. I had Orpheus and got hit with Bufu for more health than I had total. That was it one turn and it was over.
The one hit kill lottery really can be a bummer sometimes. There are answers to it, but it's still going to get you from time to time.
It's a lot worse at the beginning of the game when you just can't always defend yourself. The game became much easier near the end though a few enemies could still be trouble.
But on Hard mode I imagine it's just ridiculous. HOwever, I found my memory card.. so I may be starting over tonight.
So should I have started this on easy?
Even though I'm in the middle of other RPGs, I decided to start this anyway. I'm about four hours in. I can see myself becoming addicted to it since it's so easy to play in short bursts.
