I'm on the 110 floor. Still having fun.
I finally found the right thread for this!
Been playing P3P as the girl and I don't see how you end up with less than 80 hours by the end. Do you skip everything ever and not mess around with Personas?
77 hours in I chose to kill Ryoji just so I could see a damn ending. They're still giving me new fucking social links, FUCKING END PLEASE.
Mech was right like 200 years ago, you can see everything this game has to offer in maybe the first hour of gameplay. The rest is a grind, but like others said you can swap around to grind different things often enough that it's not that bad. I don't see how this could be anyone's best thing ever, but OK.
I'll move on to P4 as soon as this is over.
I still want to play FES because of how ghetto the PSP version really is. It gets the job done but there's a lot lost in the transition.
You mean i was right.
I'm glad i read my old posts about how much i hate this game. Persona 3 is like a bad NIS game without the low budget charm.Quote:

The dating sim part is totally generic every-anime-cliché-tron 5000, but I still enjoyed it. I get the feeling that my character was building all these "relationships" just to improve the stats of her pokermans and not because she gave a shit about any of them. Especially that prick in the Student Council, fuck that guy.
The dungeon crawling combat part is by far the worst part of the game. The locations (aside from the train and the love hotel) are single least interesting setting of any video game, probably of all time. Half the shadows are palette swaps of earlier shadows, by floor 100 you've probably seen every enemy in the game. I guess the real stars are the Persona demons, but they feel totally disposable. There's no reason to level up your ice guy when you're going to fuse a better ice guy with better spells in like an hour anyway. The combat itself is all FFX use this character for this enemy type every time, which people really liked but is secretly boring and lazy. I know that the megaten games have been around long before Pokémon but the games are so damn similar. My OCD self also wishes you could move spells around so I could put them in proper order instead of a jumbled mess. Pokémon lets me do that!
I hurrd that the Answer is 30 more hours of JUST Tartarus stuff, and that sounds like absolutely miserable torture.
The sum of the whole is much greater than its parts and it does end up being an enjoyable game. I can think of a lot of really nerdy girls I used to know who would have been ALL ABOUT all of this. I still enjoyed it. I am still enjoying it because it is never ending, actually.
The Answer kind of sucks. The combat is actually more interesting than the main game but the lack of party control ruins it for me. Lots of the enemy formations have crazy elemental resistances or counters and it takes ages for the AI to figure it out. Just watch the cutscenes on Youtube if you're interested.
This is a big reason I like the social stuff so much. It's definitely a little twisted.
Regarding the persona themselves, I really like piecing together a supergroup by the end of the game. Sure, you can get by with switching them out every single time you want to cast a different spell, but it's fun to create stuff like a single persona that can cast every element or all of the buffs/debuffs or making sure that the persona is protected against its own weakness via Null Fire or whatever. And I need to get Growth on EVERYONE.
I hope you go for the true ending, BTW. The last month or two is neat and the final boss is crazytime.
Yeah I started the real ending immediately afterwards. Four more Tartarus mini-bosses to go!
