Do you tip when picking up takeout?

Like, from a regular restaurant? (Not talking about fast food.)

It never occurred to me to do so before, but a former waitress girl told me people usually tipped her when picking up takeout, and that she was kinda annoyed when they didn't.

If you tip, do you do the full 15%, or less?

The poll is asking whether or not you tip (and it's a blind poll so be honest), but actually, what I'm more curious about is, do they for sure expect tips? I guess only people who have worked in the restaurant business will know this.

Not really. The waitress didn't even staple the bag.

If it's a big order, like, more than two meals, I'll tip. Otherwise, it's not like they're bringing you coffee and checking on you at your house.

ALWAYS tip for delivery, though.

I've never worked in a restaurant that offered take-out, but honestly tipping when getting take-out would be outright stupid. The waiters perform no service whatsoever when you get take-out, why the fuck would they deserve a tip? If anyone deserves a tip it's the chef, but the chef doesn't get any.

So hell no, I never tip with take-out and never would.

When I tip, I'm tipping the waitress for her service, so why would I tip when I'm the one doing the work. I'm already paying for the food, I'm the one that made the trip to get the food, and I'll be the one serving myself.
