The book, "Aspho Fields." Though it is just what Hoffman has heard, so I guess it isn't necessarily true. Lots of interesting tidbits about the Gears universe from the book, such as how the Gears actually acquire the Hammer of Dawn. now where is Josh with the Nerds pic?

Is that book any good? Thinking about picking it up but wary of typical videogame novelization trash.

Depends. It's not amazing literature, but if you are interested in the Gears universe at all and filling some of the may holes left by the game, then it is a good read. It's deeper than the games, and does a better job of being deeper than Gears 2 did, but if you hated the stories in the games, then I don't think you will lke the book.

I like the Gears universe. I will probably pick it up.
