The game only needs one adjustment that can be fixed without re-writing all the code...
Public games should have team damage on. Smoke spamming, mortar spamming, grenade issues = fixed.
Shut up.
Take it out. It's not neccessary. To have one day out of the week where the smokes won't work will make me toss this game out the window.
Getting rid of the knock down BS would be awesome!
I really like the idea of making the concussion grenade as a pick-up and have everyone start with the ink grenade (or nothing). If you remove the knockdown, you'll make the smoke grenades as useless as they were in Gears 1 (that said, I do want the knockdown effect removed).
I'm curious about the cringe effect that was mentioned. I wonder if it's similar to how your character pauses when he's being hit by a teammate mortar fire, and if even that temporary pause is still too long after being hit by a smoke grenade.
Anyway, I welcome this news.
So, are you in on the dry humping and thai noodles then?
Everyone starting with ink grenades would be awful, you loons. You know how many people would just find a hallway or one-way entrance, plant a couple on the way in with a little space between them, then hide all day? Plus power weapons would be rendered unobtainable for probably the first 2 minutes straight.
All they need to do is take out the concussion effect on the fag grendaes and the game becomes instantly more fun.
There are other solutions to solving the fag grenade problem, but this is by far the easiest since it's how things were in Gears 1.
The smoke won't be as useless as it was in Gears 1 because the smoke grenade in Gears 2 blocks out the red on the crosshairs. In the first Gears, the crosshairs will still turn red even if a smoke screen is up. Gears 2 doesn't have that anymore.
It'd be good on the sniper, torque, etc.
Gears soon?
