After all the Oscar hype my g/f and I decided to give this movie a shot the other night. It was, like almost all the other nominated movies this year, a partial birth abortion. I understand that it's hip and trendy nowadays to make movies about evil corporations getting boned but come on, there's got to be at least a little meat on the bones. I was hoping Michael Clayton himself was going to be a slick fixer in the tradition of the Wolf from Pulp Fiction but, alas, he's more a fixer in the tradition of Kevin Pollack from Hostage (i.e. a flaming yeast infection on legs). I imagine Clooney spent a weekend watching a John Grisham movie marathon on Starz and said "There's my next vanity project!" Did anyone not hate this movie?
