etc. Yeah, some proper track names there. I think the best soundtracks generally have a distinctive MD sound (like PS4) and would've sounded completely different on another system.

The music was composed by Kamiya Studio. Uwabo was the sound director.

Lightening Force had a smattering of excellent tunes. The Omakes you could hear after you beat the game were great IIRC.

Interesting. I had no idea. I only recently knew about Santos at all from GDRI.

Murasaki (now with Wavemaster) confirms he worked for Santos in this interview with Sega. He started working there in May 1991. While there, he worked on MD Toki. Then he says Santos became a wholly-owned subsidiary in December 1991.

Murasaki, Akiyama, and Nagao worked on the 1994 Neo Geo mahjong game Janshin Densetsu, which is based on a 1990 arcade game Santos did called Mahjong Quest. I hope someday I'll be able to ask Murasaki about that.

But back to the topic, I just realized I included Cosmic Carnage on my list, though it's for 32X. Since it uses the Genesis sound hardware, I guess it still technically counts.

I always liked the Marble Zone theme from Sonic 1 more than any of the other tracks.

I've always had a soft spot for Mystic Zone's music in Sonic 2, other than that I can't think of too many titles that haven't been mentioned already.

Was Herzog Zwei's music really that good? Maybe I need to play that again, I really don't remember it.
