Saw this last night. It was good (a fuckload better than Taladega Nights), but exactly like every other Will Farrell movie ever made. His "childish egocentric retard prone to crazy outbursts" act isn't wearing thin just yet, but you can tell it's going to real soon.
Andre 3000 was okay- pretty typical performance for a rapper. It was nice to see Woody Harrelson in a movie again, but man, is he looking really fucking old.
Overall, not a classic, but a pretty funny movie.
I actually saw the first test-audience screening of this movie, and I thought it was really good. It's much like Dole said, and everyone pretty much felt unanimous, that it was good, but it was more of what he's known for.
Probably one of his best efforts since what I found to be a legendary film, Anchorman.
Meh, Farell is only good in small doses, ala cameos. Almost all of his leading films sucked, or were mediocre. Just few are exceptions to the rule. Most of the time he comes off more fucking annoying than funny.
I'll rent it once it hits dvd, but with lowest expectations.
The few exceptions = Anchorman. Outside of that, nothing has really hit me that hard.
I still haven't seen Anchorman. I really have to rent that soon.

Stranger Than Fiction would have been a great great movie if they hadn't fucked up and given it a stupid fucking hollywood happy ending.
The non-hollywood ending is now cliche, and is actually the new hollywood ending. Point being, it doesn't really matter which way Stranger Than Fiction ended, it was a good movie.
Semi-Pro was between ok and good. A lot of parts dragged. It's Probably my least fav Farrell movie.
Farrell basically plays the same character over and over, and it's never funny. I simply don't see the attraction.
I agree, he plays the same character but I do find him funny. Some of his dialogue is so ridiculous I don't mind.
