Either way, it's a great safety net. If I get laid off through no fault of my own, why wouldn't I want that? Of course I'm only speaking as a man who wasn't employed for six months because it's hard to become a staff writer when so many already seasoned reporters are also out of jobs and couldn't pay his bills on time. Now that I live on my own, I worry that because I don't have unemployment I could be terminated for anything and be assed out.
