The captain speech is really preachy. It's unnecessary too. The environmentalism theme is really just a sub-plot that was necessary for the premise, and that scene is pretty awkward.

Just got back from seeing it. Pixar is amazing at making inanimate objects lovable.

Aren: Toy Story, Nemo, and the Incredibles all have very, VERY different themes from Wall-E.

Toy Story is about acceptance: learning you accept yourself and your role in the world, learning that there is value in it, and learning to accept others. It's also about accepting responsibility for yourself.

Nemo is sort of a coming-of-age story told from both sides, but the father's story is more complicated since he's trying to shed his past and move on with life.

The Incredibles has similar themes to Toy Story, and it's an awesome fucking superhero action movie.

Ratatouille is another coming-of-age story, all about being uncompromising with yourself.

I LOVED THIS MOVIE. Best Pixar movie ever, imo. Words cannot convey how totally endearing Wall-E as a character is. Eve, the renegade robots, even the cockroach were touching. I loved it, I loved it, I loved it. I will punch anyone in the face who talks shit about it.

Oh, and the trailer for the chihuahua movie was the most retarded piece of shit I've ever seen. I want whoever's making it to die. Now.
