I had this thing that looked like a raccoon but had colors of a fox. I thought it was a raccoon and pronounced it as ray-coon, so I ended up naming it Ray. Same story as Animegirl, though - had him from as far back as I can remember and my parents told me I slept next to him in the crib.
Gave him to the girl as a reminder of me. I don't sleep with stuffed animals any more. I'll see if I can find a pic of him.
EDIT: He looks REALLY clean in this picture.
These are the two cuties that I sleep with. The teddy bear, I've had since I was 10 years old. He was given to me by my Uncle Tony and was subsequently named Tony. I'm guessing that he came from the now out-of-business Bradlee's because when he had the red and white snowflake hat and scarf, I had seen his brethren on display a few years after I received him.
This bear has seen a lot of things, mostly unmentionable, but always there for me when I needed a shoulder to cry on or something to snuggle with while growing up. Now, the kitty shares this double-duty when friends can't come over.
I got my bear when I turned 4, he came with a red kickball type ball. He was (well, is) fairly large and grey. When my mother asked me what I wanted to name it, it turned into an almost arguement where I wanted to do something else, but mom was like "Come on Kris, what do you want to name your bear?" So my response was "NOBODY." So. Yeah, my bear's name is Nobody.
He lives in my closet now with a Snuggle bear my grandma gave me, my baby blanket, and a small stuffed lion I got a Busch Gardens and named Ringo.
Nobody fucking rules.
This happened a few times with Nobody because I used to wrestle around with him. Apparently all of the clothes lines made his neck split open a few times and my grandmother had to mend him up a few times. He has pretty wicked scars on his neck.Quote:

I had a glowworm. At some point I used a stitch ripper to remove his hat. He's currently representing HARD one one of the shelves in my old room at my parents house.
Thuggish.
I had lots of stuffed animals, but the special one was Wally, a walrus, that my dad won for me at a fair. I was playing outside with him one day and dropped him, face first, into a puddle of mud. So my mom washed him, but his long whiskers got all curly from the washing machine. Assuming I didnt want him anymore, she gave Wally to charity. I guess my mom didnt realize that Im not so shallow as to judge a stuffed walrus by his curly whiskers, but whatever. I was heartbroken.
So I got a bigger, better stuffed walrus for Christmas. No idea where my parents found one, but they did. So he was Wally Jr, of course. And then the next day my cousin pulled his tusks off. Having flashbacks of my previous walrus disappearing forever, I was in a panic until my grandma sewed his tusks back on. He has a "scar" from the surgery, but he is still pretty cute for a walrus. Ive still got him in my "baby box."
I never played Doctor/performed surgery with any of my stuffed animals, though once I did give Tony a haircut (only on his back) when he got dirty. I learned the error of my ways...because the fur doesn't grow back and his back has shorn patches =P.
My parents got me a teddy bear from the Knoxville World's Fair, I've still got it. I just keep it on a shelf and look at it sometimes, reminds me of happier times.
