I mean, some people do make minimum wage, but there are certainly menial jobs where you can make a few bucks more.

I just think the whole 80hr-week-just-to-get-by is a myth.

It's really not.

It exists from the fault of the person doing it.

I also have no sympathy for people with a bunch of kids to feed.

Almost every family in America has a mother and father that both work full time just to get by. That's 80 hours a week.

So what does a single parent do?

Well, icarus does have a point here. Having sex and getting pregnant is a voluntary thing most of the time, so if someone never could get an education or work a decent job long enough for a promotion due to having kids, it's their own damn fault.

That being said, this article is an interesting read, although I don't entirely agree with it.

Live more within their means.
