Depends on the breed, but I think the average is 28-30. Mine is an Arabian, so he may live a bit longer, maybe up to 40 :).

Horses are way too much work. I have family in Texas who take care of them and it's truly an all day thing. They are just a hassle to deal with and cost a fucking fortune. What good are they anyway? They really aren't worth shit unless they're making you money.
