SoCal locals should all get together for a trip to the Zoo and dinner in downtown sometime next month.
I'm thinking April 20th, which is a Sunday. Who's interested? Who are you bringing? Where should we eat?

Great idea, except for the Sunday thing. Sunday is the beginning of my work week :( - If I have enough leave saved up Ill try to take Sunday and Monday off and come down. I need enough leave time to cover a wedding Im flying out to D.C. for in May, so Im not 100%. Put me down as a maybe or 50% or whatever and I should know more later in April...

A quick google search showed that AAA members save 10% and if you're a Costco member, the saving is about 20%. I'm pretty sure you have to get them at Coscto though.

San Diego is roughly about the same distance away from me as LA, as is Vegas.
You need to show up at the NYC meet up.
I'm going to make every effort to be there. Just a matter of getting the time off from work now.

Here's their website. It's about 20 miles north of downtown SD. Amazingly it's still in San Diego.
Meanwhile, San Francisco is seven miles square. 20 miles away from downtown SF is three cities away.
San Diego is geographically huge, and has cities within itself. It's really fucking confusing.
For those crashing with Opaque and Rhydant, this is how I thought it would go down. Go to the zoo, which is pretty much as south as you can go without coming home with a sombrero. Then drive north to nickel city and hit up some food. Then drive to North County where most of us reside. It sounds like it's far, but really it is only a 45 minute trip (if you follow speed limits) from North County to the border.
Also, if anyone else needs a place to crash, you're welcome to crash on our couch.
