just read a couple of books on it. i would have lent you my copy of "the game" if i had thought about it bringing it. not that it's the gospel or anything (fuck, not like i have read it) but there are clearly things you can learn to improve your chances generally.
"being yourself" is not the answer, you have to change yourself in at least some small way or resign to staying miserable.
