Ponson really impressed me tonight, two hitting the Angels. The problem is that he's going to give up 6 runs in his next start. We've been burned too many times by Pavano to expect anything from him (I'm drunk but not that drunk). Wang's not coming back until October (if at all). We should bring up Aceves and Kennedy, let them audition for Rasner's spot. Once Hughes stretches his arm out let him audition too. Bruney will hopefully take Farnsworth's spot in the bullpen. The bottom line is that somebody has to step up and solidify the back of the rotation. I'm still not sure what to expect from Kennedy; his stuff has never impressed me but when he's got good command he's effective. Fuck it, bring up Pavano.

Give Rasner one more shot, if it's not good, it's Pavano's to hold until Hughes imo.

LOL PAVANO. Those Angels always find a way to beat the Yanks and they are just cruising to the division title. They'll probably officially win it at September 1st if they keep it up.

Nice to see the Mets looking mediocre again. Bases loaded with no outs in the 7th against the Astros pen then they couldn't get one run. I turned off the radio because I knew that was the ballgame and I was right. Heilman should have pitched a second inning either.

He would probably have 15 wins if it wasn't for all the pen meltdowns. The bullpen is really feeling the effects of all the work in the first half when the Mets starters rarely made it past the 5 and 6th innings. The Mets need pen help big time and the starters must go 7 minimum from now on or else the pen will continue to melt.
