I want to stab the Yankees.
I want to stab the Yankees.
Marte walked three men to load the bases and then gave up a walk off grand slam. How awful is that?
The Angels were leading 5-1 in the ninth before a Teixeira error and K-rod wildness tied the score. They still won it in the tenth on a walk-off...walk.
Teixeira, as expected, is having an effect on the entire lineup. Figgins is getting more fastballs leading off, and Vlad is clearly relaxing at the plate. Hunter and Anderson have more runners on base to drive in, and the team is taking a cue from Tex and being more selective with pitches.
This game was an example of two things I've noticed all season with the Angels:
1) They're mentally tough. Many other teams would have wilted after their closer gave up four in the ninth.
2) K-Rod makes me nervous. Yes, he has 40-whatever saves, but very few of them are clean 1-2-3 saves. He rarely gets hitters out with an economical number of pitches, and often gives up a hit or walk. He's getting the job done, but he's not dominant - sometimes it looks like he's trying to get out of his own way with his crazy delivery, and he often falls down after throwing the pitch. He might be worn out when the postseason arrives. I say screw the save record and try to save him for the playoffs - Shields can give him a break a couple nights a week.
Joe Nathan's my ideal closer. He comes in and doesn't fool around, getting hitters out on one or two pitches, and is never wild. Put him on the Angels, with all those save opps, and he'd be outperforming K-Rod.
Fucking redneck big mouth bitch Wagner goes on the 15 day DL. Closer by committee time baby!
uh oh for the Yanks?
Joba on his way to see Dr. James Andrews.
Man I wonder if that's all Andrews does is look at pitchers arms.
I'd LOVE to do that and get paid assload's of money. I'd buy a fucking diamond-encrusted house and fire shitbombs from my skeet shooter while wearing a top hat and monicle.
I want to tar and feather the Mets bullpen.
