This feels like a rental to me. I've gotta think D-Backs felt pressure by the Manny deal. This seems like a desperation move by an already anemic offense who's already lost two of its best hitters to season-ending injury, not to mention the injury to Justin Upton. I'll be very surprised if they offer Dunn a contract next season.
Dunn benefitted from the Reds' ballpark, and despite his power, he doesn't hit for average and doesn't drive in many clutch runs. Arizona already has an all-or-nothing hitter in Mark Reynolds, but he's an all-around better hitter than Dunn...geez, with those two and Chris Young, the Backs are gonna strike out a LOT.
