Bio's Early End-of-Season Awards!

AL MVP - Carlos Quentin, CWS

Even if the White Sox don't end up winning the AL Central, they wouldn't have had a chance without Quentin. Josh Hamilton's a fantastic story, but his team would have finished in the AL West cellar with or without him.

NL MVP - Albert Pujols, STL

An amazing season, considering his elbow. He's the reason guys like Ankiel and Ludwick are having such great years, keeping the Cardinals in the playoff race all year when no one gave them a chance. No one on the Cubs, Mets, or Dodgers is really having a standout individual season.

AL Cy Young - Roy Halladay, TOR

He's the best pitcher there is right now, period.

NL Cy Young - Brandon Webb, ARI

Without Webb, the Backs would not be a threat to win the NL West, period. As good as Sabathia's been, I don't think he should win based on half a season. Dempster's been great but sucks on the road, and Harden hasn't been with the team long enough.

AL Rookie - Evan Longoria, TB

Even with his injury.

NL Rookie - Kosuke Fukudome, CHC

Even though his performance has faded lately, his influence on the lineup has not.

AL Manager - Joe Maddon, TB

Ron Gardenhire's a tempting choice (like always), but no one expected the Rays to be where they are. He's kept them motivated and grounded - props for benching Upton lately.

NL Manager - Lou Piniella, CHC

He's done a fantastic job keeping the team focused, and is getting contributions from the entire roster. LaRussa's done a great job squeezing every drop of talent from his roster, but the Cubs have been great all year.

Carl Pavano will start for the Yanks on Saturday against the Orioles. LOL CARL PAVANO. Will he get hurt in the first inning?


First Jimmy Rollins said that Philly fans are frontrunners on national tv and now he craps on the fans again by saying free agents are hesitant to sign with the Phillies because of the rough fans. LOL Keep it up J-Roll. Your underwhelming season can get worse pretty fast if you keep opening your yap.

And Rollins, who faced the masses Tuesday at Citizens Bank Park after sparking controversy last week when he described Philadelphia-area sports fans as "front-runners," insists a main reason players hesitate to sign with the Phillies is because of those same fans.

His biggest gripe is that Phils fans don't cheer for the team unconditionally. Rollins has seen slugger Ryan Howard, reliever Tom Gordon, catcher Carlos Ruiz and even utility infielder Eric Bruntlett booed this season while the Phillies were in first place.

"There are definitely guys who come back to the clubhouse and you see the expression on their face," Rollins said. "It's like, 'Man, I've got to try to do something.' And they're halfway defeated before they get up there."

Jays leading 5-0! Holy crap!

I have this eerie feeling that the Red Sox will storm into town with revenge on their mind.

Jays are killing the Yanks and I really don't see Halladay giving up 6 runs. He'll probably find a way to finish off the game. Tampa and Sawx are off tonight the Yanks will lose a half game in the standings unless they pull off a miracle against Halladay.

Pedro looking pretty good against the Braves. His breaking pitches look good. It would be nice if the Nats can win against the Phils tonight but that won't happen.
