Anyone watch this shit when they were kids?
Holy shit. Rotating head at around 2:30!
It's funny how G4TV is more or less identical to this, only with girls in tight, low-cut clothing.
Holy shit... I used to love that magazine. JD Roth was the shit!!! not really.
Hahaha...wow. That unearthed some memories from the depths of my brain that alcohol hasn't managed to kill yet.
why can't we have video podcasts of this quality these days
Good lord.
Man, I used to wake up early on Saturday mornings to try and catch this. I remember they wouldn't always show it and I would be so bummed out if it wasn't on. Classic.
Gamepro had a fucking TV show?
This was my favorite TV show when I was 10 years old. And between this and Fun House J.D. Roth was my hero.
I've still got a couple of episodes recorded on VHS over the first half of a Browns game.
that show was so awesome! lets start a petition for JD Roth to get his own video game show again!......or not, lol
I say tnl does a video podcast of this production scale, it'll be the best video game related video podcast ever
also, to answer your question, yes I did watch this shit when I was a kid.. hell I'm watchin it right now
K3V's story is very similar to mine.
On the same topic, did anyone ever buy those "Game Players Game Tapes" that Game Players magazine put out? I found one in the closet at my Mom's house last summer. It had Ikari Warriors, and Castlevania 2 on it along with some other games (Tiger Heli?)
I suddenly have memories of my little brother bugging me daily to do the Sonic 1 debug code so he could "beat" the game.
I am less than happy that I remember this.
I don't think this ran here. I actually wanted to watch it. I had to settle for Video Power.
I want that Tetris furniture with the monitors in them.
I had *no* idea that this existed. How many episodes were there, and when is getting a Bluray release?
Didn't Blockbuster actually rent out tapes of this?
LOL @ the sidekick in the second video. Nice dancing, buddy.
i use to watch that gamepro garbage.
that show was awesome...use to wake up early in the morning to catch it, i found it funny that they would give a 600 dollar neogeo system to the runner up.
also they would show little cartoons of NARC and that tomato head with sun glasses....
I used to watch that, and my local shop had those tip videos, wow thx2uinternets.
I used to like the Late 80's early 90's.
Now I hate them. Thank you internet.
Wow...i remember watching this show when i was a kid. I remember watching an episode where they show you the best way beat M. Bison using either ryu or ken in SF2 on Snes.
Nick Arcade imo
Sonic 2 Beta?!?
That poor girl in the second video looks so ashamed.
She reminds me of how my little sister looks when she's sad. :( :(
Every single kid in there was a wannabe child actor. Or at at least their parents wanna'd them to be.
yeah, I used to watch this whenever it came on. FOr me and my friends, it was the only chance to see games in action that we hadn't played yet. I also remember some of the codes and tips being useful back then.
Also watched this before going to school in the morning. It used to piss me off whenever I would see someone being an absolute scrub at a game that I kicked ass at. The Neo Geo was funny to me; I remember thinking if I was on the show it would be the first thing I'd go for, but looking back at it now, I would have had no games whatsoever for it.
Every kid on Nick Arcade sucked at every game. Those challenges for the games were insultingly easy and most of the kids barely got through them.
Wonder what JD Roth is up to now. Bet he kept that denim jacket.
J.D. Roth
He produces a lot of reality TV and host's the Saturday morning kids version of Survivor, "Endurance".
wow, we share the same birthday and he's from a town not that far from me.
This was the first videogame show I'd seen.
The winner usually took home an arcade machine.
