The TNL Dallas thread got ransacked by silliness. Don't vote if you're not seriousbusiness. We'll work on a date later (with a few weeks advance), vote on all three.

People still live in Dallas?
Houston sucks. Dallas and Austin are about the same drive/fly and suck much, much less.
Out of those three, which would you recommend someone who's never been to Texas? I still have the stereotypical "Dusty, dry, hot. Lots of beer, muscled cowboys and skimpily dressed chicks in cowgirl boots." thing running around in my head.
Dusty is only west of the Brazos River, meaning none of the three. Cowboys and rednecks are everywhere. Even Oak Lawn. Dallas is pretentious. Houston is humid. And Austin is weird.
EDIT: I'd say Austin. You can see the capitol, eat Stubbs Bar-B-Que, get drunk on 6th St, drive an hour and half south to see the Alamo and Riverwalk in San Antonio, or drive an hour and half west to visit Fredericksburg, a small German town with good food and a winery, along the way on the side of the road is the town of Luckenbach that Waylon and Willie sang about.
EDIT 2: There's a lot to do in DFW as well: Sports teams, Six Flags. Dallas is the money and killin' Presidents side, where Fort Worth is the Stockyards and Art Museums side 1, 2, 3; a strange combination, I know, but it works for Fort Worth.
Dallas is more focused with the indie art galleries. The Dallas Museum of Art gets an occasional good show and the Nasher is worth a spin, but the bulk of Dallas' art is the co-ops and small galleries like 500X and the Contemporary.Quote:

Hey, you know the old meatpacking plant in the stockyards? Was that used for Sona in PB? I never drove by to check it out...
Not sure. Everything I was dragged to set for was around the Dallas side. I do know some of the Walker, Texas Ranger spots in North Dallas (except for Prestonwood Mall which was torn down and turned into a Wal-Mart/classy stripmall shopping center).
EDIT: Damn, I forgot. I could probably name off some of the "Arland, TX" spots borrowed for King of the Hill, too.

I'd offer my place to crash, but Mars might already be staying, and seeing as how it's just like a studio (one bedroom is the entire apartment, haha), might be too cramped. Ooh, Madame Mam's down by campus for some Thai food. Then we hit up the arcades by campus if any are still around; otherwise we take IQ tests at the Church of Scientology. Then we get bubble teas at Momoko. Then we head downtown for beers and stuff. Then we cap the night off at Katz's for pickles.
Arcades are sadly gone :( Otherwise I'd LOVE that. There's always Daves and Busters or Main Event, but I'd prefer more intimate spaces.

I don't know much about bars downtown. I just know about the ones good for dancing at. Which mostly are gay bars. Not sure TNL would be down for that. Or even me. WE COULD ALL CUM TO MY TINY STUDIO AND PLAY WII!?!?!?!?!?!?

Every person I work with is taking week long vacations til the middle of July and it makes it really hard for me to get off work for anything more than two days. I can get to Galveston in a little over an hour though. When would everyone want to do that? If only I could trick my dad in to letting us use his beach house. Sadly, I believe he's transformed it into his love cave with his girlfriend.
