I searched google for this, and all I found were a bunch of articles from 2005 saying it was confirmed. But was it ever implemented?
And if so, is it just plug and play? or do you need special hardware or software?

The only game that uses it is UT3, and I'm pretty sure it's plug and play.
So Call of Duty 4, or any of the other various FPS don't have gameplay support?
lame.
pretty much
wouldn't it be possible to buy a programmable keyboard and mouse to mimmic the PS3 key functions? Or does anyone know of a hack of anysort to get this to work?
Didn't the original Xbox have something like that? It never works as well as official mouse support.

i think the saving grace was that the controller had its own customizable button schemes, and a one touch button to make the mouse more sensitive for more acurate movements (like sniping)
Another product to take a look at is XCM XFPS Rateup.
