Okay, finally beat it. For some reason I didn't think shocktroopers could damage him because he shrugs off tank anti-personnel guns, and shocks do practically no damage to him unless you've taken out every single tower. I kept trying to beat him with lancers, but couldn't hit him enough times to take him out. Once I went for the trooper crossfire he wasn't quite as tough.

I feel a lot more confident with picking this as my game of the year after finishing the whole thing and enjoying it mightily start to finish. I can't think of a single game I've ever seen that's more beautiful to look at than this one. I'm definitely down for the DLC when it shows up. I might try to go back and A rank most of the stages and get the rest of the medals too.

there is more than 1 dlc patch for VC. One is a scenario for one of the stupid Japanese scouts. The other lets you be Bles.
