Anywho...I think these cars are ugly as hell. Saving money on gas WOULD NOT be worth it to me if I had to drive something like that around.
Yeah, you can save just as much money on gas with a vehicle that is normal human size and just as cheap. Car and Driver averaged 32 mpg in their test of the Smart, and while their averages are typically a few mpg short of what most people will see (on account of them driving the cars like race car drivers) that's not a particularly good mpg. A Toyota Yaris, Nissan Versa, Chevy Aveo or Honda Fit would get very comparable gas mileage and still be much more practical a vehicle (and for some, better to drive, too).Quote:

Confirmed. I have driven three toyotas (Corolla, Rav4, and Ist... scion xA for non f-chans) and they all had fucked up fuel gauges from the get go. My xA currently gets about 250-300 miles out of the first half of the tank, then you can pretty much see the needle falling while you drive.Quote:
