Much to my deep personal sadness for having seen it, it was.
I wouldn't put it on a "Top 10" list, but I'd count "The Mask" as a superhero flick because 1) It's based off a comic book, and 2) He has cartoon super-powers that he uses to fight bad guys.
On the same note, I really wouldn't count "Men in Black" as one, even though it started as a comic book as well.
I'd rate "Mystery Men" a lot higher if it was funnier. It had great potential, a solid cast of characters - but something was off. I blame Janeane Garofalo.
"Son of the Mask" is best left forgotten along with Catwoman, Electra, and Supergirl.
I don't think I really laughed once during Mystery Men. It was very... flat.
