Actually we busted out ol' Steely Dan after we heated the tips of paper clips with lighters and tried to push the cold solder into the holes. It didn't work out that well. You live and learn I guess.

To give netwurked a little solder cred he did do some work to a couple of xbox mother boards in my presence. One worked, one did not, it was his motherboard that worked, the other was coincidence I'm sure.

I was thinking the same, but look it at closer, its not really a gun, its just a pencil iron with a pistol grip.

If he had used a gun, and being drunk, he would have burned holes through the PCB.

I bought the correct soldering materials and wala! We have a working sound board. 15 watt soldering iron from Radio Shack did the trick. It was kinda funny seeing my horrible ass of an attempt to solder those contacts in the first place. After I de-soldered everything and cleaned in between the contact points and traces it took me about 1 minute for the eight connections. I am by no means fluent in the art of soldering but I had just enough skillz to fix my shenanigans. Enjoy our triumph vid...
