I did that in high school. Then I went to the mall and forgot everything.

In Africa? It's not like he needs to. That would be redundant.
see, I don't see that as evil either.
THERE NEEDS TO BE A CULLING!
I like evil, it makes life worth living. Try the veal.
I'm not saying all money is evil, just that all evil is derived from money.
If the love of money is the root of all evil than one of the two basic components of evil is money. So evil cannot happen without money because without money, no person can love money. So saying money is the root of all evil is correct just more general and only applicable in certain cases, e.g. it is correct in all cases when the love of money is the root of the evil.
God I can't believe I'm arguing this. Dumbest argument to ever happen on TNL.
I hope so. It's one of the most important concepts to know when managing money, too.Quote:
I'd like to think that TNLers aren't too stupid to understand finance ideas. I mean how hard is TMV?
Greed, or simply the natural Darwinian competitiveness in all creatures, objectified in this case by material possessions, is the root of this "evil" you speak of. It is endemic to every moderately developed, yet Man's ingenuity strips it of its innocent veneer and causes people to see it as anything different than what they see in National Geographic. The fact that money is used to standardize the value of material goods for easy commerce does not make it, nor its use, the root of the "problem". It is simply a unit of measurement applied to things which themselves are fought over due to a very primal cause. Blaming money or the use of money for anything is the naive rambling of a faux intellectual. This is also why socialism and other utopian fantasy cant work, btw.
TL;DR: shut the fuck up.
Nope.
You can't have material greed without objects.
Sorry.
To be fair, I never agreed with the statement in the first place. I think black people are the root of all evil.
Either you misunderstood me or i didnt explain it right, i'm too tired to tell.
I meant that material greed stems from the competitiveness inherent in most species. Material goods are a subconscious yardstick in man's quest to spread his seed.
The effects of said greed obviously have some unsavory consequences, but how can one vilify one of the most natural behaviors there is? Or worse, blame it on currency, which is an insignificant symptom of it?
