No object in this world can be considered evil. The real evil is and always will be the need for everyone needing some way to show those around them that they are better than them.
Money is the real life Macguffin of our own sense of morality. Its a physical way to classify what everyone in the modern world needs to survive.

It is not evil, though by nature those who have the most of it, tend to be.

In the true sense of evolution, we'll know we've truly made it somewhere new on the ladder when the need for such trivial, objects disappears entirely from our desires.
