Virgin Mobile Festival - Baltimore

There are some bands I care about, others I don't. I'm going both days, anyone else interested?

Beginning Saturday, May 3, tickets will be available through Ticketmaster at www.tickemaster.com or 1-800-551-SEAT. Two-day tickets are $175 for General Admission and $450 for VIP. Single-day tickets are $97.50 for General Admission and $250 for VIP tickets. A charity contribution of $1.50 per day will be applied to each ticket. Here is the line up:

Main Stage, Saturday, Aug. 9:
Bloc Party, Cat Power, Chuck Berry and The Silver Beats, Citizen Cope, Duffy, Foo Fighters, Gogol Bordello, Jack Johnson, KT Tunstall, Lupe Fiasco, The Offspring, Paramore, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, The Swell Season and Wilco.

Main Stage, Sunday, Aug. 10:
Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire, The Black Keys, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Bob Dylan, The Go! Team, Iggy & The Stooges, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Nine Inch Nails, She & Him, Shudder to Think, Stone Temple Pilots and Taking Back Sunday.

Dance Tent, Saturday, Aug. 9:
DJ Dan & Donald Glaude, Erol Alkan, Ferry Corsten, Soul Wax, Steve Lawler and Underworld.

Dance Tent, Sunday, Aug. 10:
Armin van Buuren, Chromeo, Deadmau5, Moby (DJ Set), Pendulum and Richie Hawtin.

yeah, i would love to see iggy, bob dylan, gogol bordello, wouldn't mind seeing chuck berry & the silver beats, and wilco...

Fuck otakon, I'm thinking I hijack the normal get together I have with my friends and take it here. I'd love to see Bloc Party, Chuck Berry, Foo Fighters, Iggy, Kanye, Lupe, NIN and STP.

I don't care who is playing, no one could drag me to one of those all day music festivals. They're so much hassle it's not worth it. I do not enjoy seeing bands when I am tired hungry and annoyed, nor do I like $6 bottled water.

The worst part is they kill the local music scene by forcing bands to sign contracts that prevent them from appearing in the area in the surrounding time frame. (I don't know that this festival is doing that, but it has been standard operating procedure for most)

ticket prices are insane.

i'm usually that elitist prick that goes to general admission clubs/bars and won't pay more than $30 to see someone.

this is just something that is a little different a lot of people i would like to check off the seeing list. yeah.

I won't pay more than $10. $15 if I have to. I paid $25 recently to see Madame Butterfly, but that was slightly different.

also: the only band I'd want to see is Offspring. However, I don't want to see them outside in the middle of the day with all those people for that price.
