LOL HEMOPHILIAC KNIFE FIGHT!
I remember them.
They're awesome, it's a shame to hear that Mzo was being a dick.
Stupid fat mexican.
PvP in wow is like counter strike...but dumb.
I have a 42 character on a pvp server and i have maybe 5 kills.
Didn't care about any of them. None of them were fun. It was a chore. And rogues suck.
This thread is supposed to be about regret and self-loathing, not spirited nostalgia! If I started a thread called "I Have Been Drinking Again, and I Think I Have a Problem," would everyone start rattling off their favorite brands of Scotch and spinning yarns about awesome times when you were hammered?
Allow me to get us back on track:
Rogues ROCK your WORLD. Silly Lock.
When I hit 70 i had about 6000 HK's RECONIZE
I never got that many kills, but then again I was a pally, we couldn't pvp alone worth a shit.
When I got together with a rogue or other dps class though shit got awesome.
cant remember my kill count. wasn't too big on pvp, but then the time before tbc came out (like 5 fucking months of it), was more or less pvp.
I'd rather be a carebear than a rogue.
Man, I miss playing WoW. There is and never has been anything like it and I had some great times playing it. I can't even force myself to play it anymore...after I hit 70 I got really bored. Now I just have a friend send me money in the mail while he raids and shit.:bang:
you're an idiot.Quote:
There is and never has been anything like it
When a pally specs holy and runs with a high DPS class, its hell (or heaven if you are the dps). I remember doing WSG with my pally friend, and just the 2 of us could take our flag back off a group of 5 or so horde.
On the flipside, I was playing AB in a pug group against a premade horde team, and they roled in groups of 4, a pally, a warrior/rogue, a druid and a caster, simply couldn't do anything to them because we were'nt organized for shit.
It annoys me how much people care about gear. Obviously it makes a great difference, but playing skills are very underrated. Seeing everyone in S1 gear who basically spam 1 key all fight gives me the shits (i'm looking at you, mace rogues).
Yeah, I was always a holy pally, and wit a good dpser we were virtually unstoppable.
As a pvp lock, give me a resto druid and we can fucking go non stop.
I've seen arjue put out the dps and it's obscene. I'd love a rogue just for fucking with people, but jesus fuck I can't bring myself to do the whole 70 levels a third time.
You know what they should do with the Litch King expansion? Along with letting people create Death Knights that start at level 55, extend it to all classes. Then I might consider it.
The thing is gear is so important because it IS a big deal.
I have pretty decent pvp gear now, and for the most part I can just stand in front of another hunter who only has a piece or two of his pvp gear and out dps him... while hes spamming all his abilities/traps/etc. I'm just going "pew pew pew pew" and hes dead.
2K damage per hit vs. 600 damage per his is a pretty big deal regardless of playing ability.
Thats fine, of course it makes a difference, but its just retarded that for instance, i recently got passed over for normal magisters terrace because "ur gear is scrub noob", without any discussion about spec or playstyle, then chose some spastic mace rogue because he was bothered to play 100 battlegrounds and buy the arena s1 gear (which isn't even very good pve gear anyways).
That I'll agree with, especially the pve/pvp gear argument too.
Sometimes though if you don't know a person, you have to have some criteria which to judge them by, and gear is an easy one.
I've seen people in both pvp and pve gear that is mind blowing, but they play so bad I can only imagine they botted most of it. :/
"Why yes, I AM going to trap and kite the mob with the little raid icon above his head EVERY PULL... why do you keep attacking him?!"
Ice trap pulls are really the worst. Trigger-happy mages or warriors with absolutely no restraint will break my ice trapped mobs all the time and then have the balls to tell me either it was my fault for trapping him so close to the other mob or yell at me to lay another one down in the middle of my cooldown.
Let's also not forget the slew of people who refuse to play their class. In Outlands I've encountered Warriors that won't tank, priests that won't heal, a druid that won't buff or resurrect, and especially, shamans that won't lay down totems.
A bad hunter is way worse than any other badly played class.
I dunno, I think if the main tank or the healer(s) suck then any group would have more severe problems. I do agree though that a bad pull or bad ice trap can be a disaster too. I consider myself more than competent in groups, though it's not exactly too difficult for a hunter to fulfill his role in a group or raid.
In a difficult five man, I think all characters share a similar level of responsibility because you can't do it unless everyone is staying focused.
Way more stressful, atleast for me, being a main tank or healer though.
heh kill count.....Prebc I had 54k kills after bc a total of 56k I just don't play the game anymore :(
I always found tanking to be much less stressful than healing on my druid. I was pretty good with aggro management, so I basically relied on my healer (who was and awesome holy pally) to keep the group working. It was always fun trying to push him as hard as I could by chain pulling. When he and I switched roles after a few months, I really didn't enjoy the stress of being the healer. I think I healed 2 or 3 arc runs, then specced feral again.
Being ranged DPS is the best though, especially as a lock. Don't even have to worry about CC responsibilities for the most part, aside from the occasional banish. I also love it when people in pugs freak when I fear juggle. They see a mob fear up and everyone fucking freaks.
Despite WoW's flaws, I have had a lot of fun with it. Drunken 5 man instances with 4 mates on vent is really really good times.
p.s. I'll transfer my lock to SH if arjue takes his rogue over.
Every bad hunter I've ran with told someone else or me how to play their/my class and in at least my case, they were fucking out of their minds wrong.
Bad hunters are the fucking worst thing ever. Can't trap for shit, can't pull for shit, roll on my fucking leather gear, I just want to kill them sometimes.
I got bored last night and respecced to combat daggers. Its pretty crazy for PvE, but oh my god does it suck for PVP (coming from subt daggers). Subtlety daggers is amazing and really underrated, but the ridiculous spike damage from it makes it fairly shit for PvE. My garrotes and ruptures won't be nearly as affective either, which sucks. hopefully slice and dice can cover the loss.
Maybe when the GF stops playing lol.
Right now I have my guy following a level 70 pair through Wailing Caverns.
It's awesome.
I had about 30k hks when I hit 60 and have since added very little to them. I leveled on bg tokens though, back when you could cash them in for XP, because I can't stand questing. Yeah, I play on a pve server. It really doesn't bother me. Most anything that happens on the overworld I see as work and pointless anyway and the last thing I want is some asshole prolonging it most of the time.
There are always people doing their dailies flagged though and often I'll join in when I'm in the mood. But when I just want to get the mind numbing bullshit part of the game out of the way so I have gold for the fun bit, I like the option of NOT having a rogue stun me twice, pop evasion, CoS out of flameshock, vanish, stun me another two times and then skip around thinking his cooldowns = skill.
Seriously. Rogues are terrible. I have a rogue alt and killed a same level (39 at the time) hunter twink in nothing but my weapons and BREWFEST gear just because I could... I guess it's fun when you're the rogue though :P
My armory link: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-s...n=Stormbringer and yeah my arena teams are lawlz. Just really there to goof around with friends. That might have to change with the new rating requirements for all pieces of s4 though.
Hit 43, and descovered Battlegrounds.
Pretty fucking fun. Even though im the lowest level im still in top 3 for damage :D
33 kills in my first BG.I shall do more.Fun times. I really wish Death Coil had a shorter cooldown though....
Dinged 37 tonight.
My mount is right around the corner.
Canceled my account, again. Time ran out today and I doubt I'm going to ever pay for wow again.
GJ Mars.. We should play some TF2 sometime.
LOL that's why Opaque hasn't been posting and didn't come to New York. It all makes sense.
Hey Changeling, I'll play TF2. Still gonna take me a while to get used to this kb+m stuff though.
Also: if Opaque was addicted to WoW I think he'd be a higher level. My friend started a new account last week and got up to 60 in the span of that week. :p
What's your character name?
hotdogchoker
corndogsimo
deepthraotdogs
I think I saw that toon offering gay cyber for gold and WC runs. I sent him a tell, but he already had someone wailing his caverns, amirite?
The other guy's name was Dahvae, I think. Two-timing bitch.
I really wish you guys would roll on a goddamn pvp server. I'd (in a few months) reup and transfer my s1/s3 orc warrior over.
Right now i'm pretty tired of wow, a combo of trying to found and gm a guild with no real officers except in name only reallly got old.. Age of Conan intrigues me but not enough to join in the cluster fuck of a release beta. And before anyone assures me of its quality, all mmo releases are release betas for at least a year.
RF is on a PVP server.
Joining RF is how you are born-again hard.
See ya in December then. Or whenever i get the bug again.
NSHFD
Not Shattered Hand FUCKING DIE
If you guys were horde I'd come back to WoW and leave Destromath because all my friends stopped playing and I kinda miss it. :(
If I were an awesome mod, I'd ban every non-SH idot posting in this thread. lrn2wow
People still play wow? Yeah I never stopped. ^_^
For the e-pene crowd.

We are currently working on Brutallus.
Im doing Tailoring and Mining.
My Tailoring is at 185 or something. and i dont know if i should take it all the way. I dont see anything that is worth my time besides the Frozen Shadoweave shit. Plus everyone says outland replaces all my old world gear anyway. Does that include craftibles?
Im a lock btw. Afflic.
Dahvae cast Curse of Exhaustion on my heart, because he made it beat so fast.
Horde is overrated, if you want to play as an ugly class we have FEMALE DWARVES.
Who am I kidding, they're GODDESSES.
My friend said that your gear is funny because you have season 1 gear when season 4 just started.
I started that char in december and had law school in the meantime. Couldn't regularly pvp for gear so i got the cheap stuff to pvp now instead of saving all my honor like i shoulda.

If everyone else is, why not. I stopped playing in March. I also have a set for non-raid bosses with 3-4% more crit and 70 more damage, but at the spell hit cap for 72s. Never bothered to get subtlety on the cloak though.
The best lock gear guide around period.

Spellstrike is incredible until you get deep into Hyjal/BT, This is BOE so you can get another tailor with the patterns to make them for you.
http://www.wowhead.com/?itemset=559
The same goes for the Frozen Shadoweave Set, This set is BOP so you must make it yourself.
http://www.wowhead.com/?itemset=553
You're a god damned idiot if you're a Lock/Mage and don't tailor. Spellfire/FSW will get you geared close to T5 content.
You can't flex nuts unless you have an old world legendary.
hahahahaha, you're an orange menace with that helm and HAND O' RAGGGG
I haven't yet. But if you fucked my bars up like you did Narche I'll murder you.
Narche I just had to set up for ease of use.
Locks suck.
Coming close to our 3rd year my guild being #1 the whole time just broke up ;(>. It's probably because I haven't played in almost a year they miss me too much.
Care to clarify on this? The hood might get replaced at some point depending on a number of factors but the pants will not likely be replaced until T6.
**Edit**
After re reading what I wrote it sounded like the two piece set together was awesome due to the set bonus and that is a negative. Just that they are two awesome pieces until you get into deeper content.
I replaced my pants many times since Spellstrike. I used VH for the 2 piece bonus, then I upgraded to T5 pants, which are incredible for a lock. The next upgrade after that is probably Channeled Elements which are early T6.
The hood is much harder to replace (if you're not an engineer), since the caster helm itemization sucks.
Spellstrike pants are better then T4 without question and slightly better then T5, I have never seen a serious raiding Lock in T6 content chose anything other until they get T6 or the Leggings of Channeled Elements. You must take into account the epic gems available to a raider in Hyjal and BT.
As for the hood it is actually easier to replace if you take into account,
Brutal Gladiator's Felweave Cowl (Season 4 Arena) -EZ Mode Epic
Hood of the Corruptor (Lady Vashj - Serpentshrine Cavern) -She should be down already if you are in Hyjal.
Cowl of the Grand Engineer (Void Reaver - Tempest Keep) -Easiest boss in TK.
This is in comparison to the two leg replacements.
Leggings of Channeled Elements (Kaz'rogal - Mount Hyjal) -Not hard to get with a competent raiding guild otherwise you will likely never see it.
Leggings of the Malefic TIER 6 (Illidari Council - Black Temple) -If you cannot down Kaz'rogal you will not down Council.
You're an idiot.
You forgot the Hex Lord helm, S4 came out YESTERDAY.
Here's the order for pants for someone thats hit capped and not in desperate need of crit:
[Corrupted Soulcloth Pantaloons]
[Leggings of Channeled Elements]
[Pantaloons of Arcane Annihilation]
[Leggings of the Malefic]
[Leggings of the Seventh Circle]
[Leggings of Devastation]
[Brutal Gladiator's Felweave Trousers]
[Leggings of the Corruptor]
[Spellstrike Pants]
[Trial-Fire Trousers]
[Trousers of the Astromancer]
[Legwraps of Sweltering Flame]
Even scratching the S4 helm which should not be overly difficult considering he is starting on gear now the list still holds in comparison to the legs. Idiot? How about backing it up with something, I run with the best Locks on my server and they would laugh at you for using T4 over SS.
What progression are you in anyway, where are these claims coming from? Does a discussion need to boil down to "idiot", come on.
Yeah but the point is neither of them hold a candle to Hex Lord's hood.
T4 :)
He was joking. We're farming Hyjal and have past Akama on BT.
Very nice, what kind of raid schedule do you guys have?
Also, since you guys are coming up on Gorefiend this may help if you have not seen it already. People who suck at ghosts make me cry.
Gorefiend ghost minigame: http://www.ferox-horde.de/feroxtgs2/
Theres three pairs of decent legs from Badges alone. That alone makes your argument flacid. Every pair of pants under Spellstrike on the list I posted a few posts up is only under by less than 5 dps.
We raid Monday and Wednesdays
We raid mondays and wednesdays.
Since we're SRSBSNSBT, we're shooting for sundays too, so we'll see how that works out.
I'm wearing a bunch of haste crap right now : /
Check maxdps.com or something, I'm not lying to you
NAME DROPS WATCH OUT
Dave's just being coy. Look up Copperfield, on Shattered Hand.
I mean, I dont care which item is marginally better than others. Spellstrike obviously isnt the best pair of pants until T6 content, especially with the new badge ones. But you're saying that theres no caster helm itemization hole, which is wrong.
/e FirstBlood kneels before the master
The greatest warlock in the history of World of Warcraft.
LOL
I like how you can tell how good someone is at this game by looking at what their character is wearing. It's like playing Barbie!!!
