Look What I Made

I made this in the unfinished part of my basement today:

But what am I looking at it?

It's my new pullup bar, I've been thinking about putting one up for ages, and the premade door hangy ones are too expensive.

So a bit of pipe, some chain, and some hangers, and instant pullup bar (on the cheap too!).

Note the red head in the second frame because SOMEONE wasn't able to operate the camera correctly and I was hanging there for like 15 seconds. Also of note are my moose pajama pants and weird neck muscles.

Doesn't it shake around when you pull up?

The chain runs all the way through the pipe, so I was afraid it might spin or swing too much.

Works perfect though, no complaints! I need to wrap it in athletic tape though, cause as is, it makes your hands stink. :(

If you were really kicking or fighting to get through your reps I could see it being an issue though.

you're gonna post the video when you're working out on it and both chains rip out of your support beams, right?

This looks like an injury waiting to happen. Do those eye screws say how much weight they're supposed to support?

The chain and the carabiners were rated up to 550 pounds and the eye screws are about 3 1/2 inches into the wood. I only predrilled the holes a tiny bit, so I feel pretty confident that they will hold my 150 some pounds.

This would be useful for me, except my complex's gym is about 50 yards from my apartment.
