Text Adventures

I'm curious what the numbers are for playing this niche genre. I'm talking adventure games that are all or virtually all in text form not graphics + text stuff like Phoenix Wright.

I play them occasionally. I liked them as a kid in the '80s, avoided the genre for the entire '90s decade for some reason, and got back into them in the early 2000s.

I like messing around with them from time to time, especially the Infocom stuff. I've never finished one save Photopia.

I'm playing a text adventure right now called "Read the Forums"

but on topic, I don't think I've played a text adventure game since I had my old ass tank of a ][e

I play a lot of them. I always make a point to play the IFComp entries. There's just something about the purely text-based form that I find magical.

The straight up text adventures tend to be a little frustrating, but I play them occasionally.

I've beaten the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, A Mind Forever Voyaging, and I think that might be it. Played a few more though.

I have played Zork when I was a kid. Never got very far since my Engrish was very limited.

I occasionally replay Gateway I & II. I got a Z5-interpreter on my Palm, which I rarely use.

Does reading "Choose Your Own Adventure" books as a kid count?
