Yeah, that's much better.

I thought MM8 was pretty sexy too. I was hoping they'd do something along those lines for the new one. oh well
I don't actually prefer MM8, personally. I feel like the game lost something important.
It looks good, mind you. Not quite as iconic, I suppose. Sucky bosses, also.
edit: I think it's a variety of things. MM's pose isn't as strong, the weaker sound, the generic music, the level design, the bolt collecting, the colors, MM's over-animated jumps... it's all just "gilding the lily", to use an old person's phrase.
Love that hermit crab, though.
Well my previous statement was strictly about the graphical style of MM8 which we all know wasn't the reason it sucked.
I believe in my personal opinion releasing a new game in such a dated graphical style seems kinda redundant. Back then they did it because they had to we have no reason to do it now. A "Powered Up" style 9 or even a MM8 style 9 would be much better IMO.
Just my 2 cents.
Fair enough. I do disagree of course. :D
Either way it's gonna be fun game cause the NES games just cause the graphics are dated doesn't mean they aren't fun. Quite the contrary. I just think It'll have a more lasting appeal in a more recent graphical style.
the most heated debate over sprites ever!

i think i'd like to see the powered up sprites used again. and let's face it. if megaman's sprite hadn't changed in the last 20 years we'd all be pissed. i welcome seeing new sprites and interpretations of the character.

lol shooting star rockman 3's in development.
I always imagined that if a Mega Man 9 were to be made, it should play like a Contra/Gunstar Heroes platformer. There's no reason why an advanced robot from 200X can't fire in eight directions. Throw in some Treasure-inspired bosses and awesome weapons and you'd have a kick-ass Mega Man game.
that WOULD be an awesome mix. but at this point megaman is the equivalent of dragon quest. it's kinda sticking to it's roots and just adding small bits with each installation in any given series.
honestly, i kinda like that about the megaman universe. you can never say "they shoulda never changed the way it was" 'cause they have a bunch of times. and even if you don't like a new series or whatever, you still have the old style to go back to.
