Yes as a matter of fact I am.
This is going to be so awesome.
The "9" in that artwork looks like shit.
this game is awesome! i don't have a wii. i haven't played it yet.
anway, i love how the first wily stage captures the feeling of the first wily stage in megaman 2. i mean...wow...they did a great fukking job. and i think this game has my favorite boss music ever for the main series. it's never been this deep and sinister. mostly hectic and goofy.
wait is this out for VC already? because I think I still own a Wii.
Holy Shit!Quote:

 awesome
This will be the bestest online biography ever.
Educational expenses are an income adjustment and are not a deduction, standard or itemized.
Your mom is an income adjustment.
I'd adjust that.
megaman!
it's funny that the robot master list's numbers are kinda screwed up. the last robot built by dr wily was aqua man (DWN-064) but concrete man is listed as DRN-065. he's taking credit for all the robots dr wily built now? maybe he WAS planning to take over the world!
Hey, uh.... how I get past the horizontal flame bars in the first Wily stage :o
Dunno - I still have to finish off Hornet Man =(
His weapon is really cool once you get it.
According to GameFAQs I guess I'm supposed to use the Concrete gun. How does concrete stop heat?!
You're kidding. Right?
Look man. Oven mitts stop heat. They aren't made of concrete. How can concrete stop heat?
DO YOU SEE?
I WANT LOGIC IN MY MEGA MAN GAMES DAMMIT!
Snakes beat holograms?
Air beats sticky bombs?
This cannot be!
bubbles beat holographic aliens.
i always thought dr wily forgot to make that alien hologram thing in megaman 2 water proof. what a dummy.
I'm through 5 of the robot masters so far and I must say, this game just isn't that great.
It's better than MM4-7 I'd say. But I really would have preferred they continue from where 8 was going. This game just feels derivative.
that's exactly how it should feel. i really need to hurry up and play this.
It makes me feel like I'd rather be playing MM2 or 3.
That's not a good thing.
It's funny how reading more whining makes me realize that I was overreacting about that DLC.
I'd pay $30 for this game. $21 ain't that bad, and that's if I even want the extras. This is not a Katamari case, dammit.
When's the 360 version coming out? I'm having a hard time deciding between it and the Wii version.
Get the Wii version. It does seem kinda natural with the wiimote.
This is REALLY GREAT.
A coworker brought his Nintender into the studio and we passed the controller around. We were able to beat Galaxy Man, and got our asses kicked by damn near every other thing.
I love it. I'll be having a 360 now to play this at home, I think. Sandpaper plus d-pad equals peace in the middle east, right?
If it doesn't have the best level design in the series, it is in the top TWO.
Those challenges are INSANE. And you can run time-trials of every level and compare how the rest of the world is doing.
Beating the challenges is neat, but it's kinda distracting when those windows show up during the game. (Is it flicker city if you have legacy mode turned on?)
Easily. Every room is distinct, and you develop a route for dealing with the enemy patterns efficiently. And there's so much cool stuff. Swinging platforms. Weird unraveling snail-lookin' platforms. Lava beams you can turn into cement (man, that one took a while to figure out). Just a touch of disappearing blocks. Gah, I love it!
The weapons are great too. A 3-shot, a fast straight shot that penetrates shields, a homing bee that also nicks items, a cement shot!!, the black hole bomb, the leaf shi-I mean, jewel satellite (which is really incredibly useful), the tornado blast. I like how they're ALL really useful. You can zip through time attack stages using each one in its proper place and feel like you're doing a speedrun (even though I can't seem to ever shave that last 15 seconds or so off, I'm guessing people are using Rush Jet a lot or something). Oh, and I like how you have to use a lot of them in the Wily stages. There really isn't a useless weapon in the game.
... except maybe the Plug Ball. Haven't really used that one much. But, I haven't been past Wily Castle 3 yet.
That's the token useless weapon that also happens to be the final Wily form's weakness.
Picked up this game on Friday afternoon and I've beaten it about 3 or 4 times already. I'm having a blast with it. I never really played much of Megaman past the first 3 games, but MM9 is easily on par with any of those three. I have to second all of the positive comments about the level design and weapons, too.
Bah, the Wily stages were pretty cake, especially if you loaded up on E tanks for the bosses.
Which stage was it with the stupid elephant with the pink ball and the pits? Concrete man's stage right? That was the most annoying thing of them all.
Your mother.
I'm still stuck on Wily's Castle, area 2. The underwater part with spikes on top, bottom, and the tight hal you have to jump from to get to the other side. Either I fall off from waiting too late, jump early and land in the spikes, or hit the jump but hold A too long, and end up hitting the top spikes.
Seriously. wtf.
Or just learn how to jump. If you really need assistance, you can use the concrete block to extend the platform you're jumping to.
HA HA HA that last robot in the anti-grav room is a little bastard
Diamond shield is your friend.
HEY THERE HAVE SOME 1-UPS
I finished Mega Man 9 today, and I just wanted to confirm that Wily Stage 3 is full of dick moves. Yes, its awesome...but it surely did test my patience a few times...lol.
After completing this game, I'd say that its still as good as Mega Man 2 and 3. In fact, I think its actually a little better than Mega Man 3...but not quite as good as Mega Man 2. Although, it can be argued that its better than 2 just for the fact that its so much more well balanced. Every weapon is useful for something in Mega Man 9.
I had a lot more fun playing 9 than I did replaying 2 recently. I would definitely put this up there with 2 and 3.
I kinda wussed out, though, I went in to Wily's stage with 9 E-tanks and used the 1/2 item for the final stage, lol.
the ending is AWESOME, but I didn't realize at first why Rush showed 9 scenes of Wily's defeat instead of 8; forgot about the Forte game. Showing MegaMan in the colors of the weapon used to defeat each final boss was a nice touch.
Now I think I'll crack open the MM Collection and try playing MM6 for the first time... though I get the feeling I'll be disappointed with it.
PS2. And nothing really stuck out to me as off, except in order to play with remixed music you have to turn Navi mode on and it's pretty useless.
Come to think of it, I never played 7 or 8, either.
Hope you like the sound of charging Mega Buster for three hours straight.
"WAHWAHooohooohooohoohoohoohoohoohooh-"
Oh yeah, I have finished MM1-5 already. GOD do I hate the Mega Buster. Arm Cannon for life.
Bustah = 4 and up.
It's still called Mega Buster in MM9 even though it doesn't charge.
(I always thought it should have started with the letter "P" because it always showed as "P||||||||||||||||||||||||" .)
his arm cannon/gun is called the mega buster (r/loku-bustah!). charging or not. it just didn't have a proper name until mm4...then they went and just called it that.

Penny Arcade nails it for once.
Penny Arcade nailed your mom MORE than once.
and I figured P = player, just thought it would be neat to have something more fitting there.
Do you really want to go down the PENNIES ARCADES IS THE BEST TING ON THE INTERWEBS road? They do good sometimes.
And then they do forty strips about Hellgate: London or something.
I'm hoping someone will report how Mega Man 9 is on XBL, with the directional pad and all. I might buy it on PSN because I bought Bionic Commander on XBL and it didn't play well on the pad so I purchased it again on PSN.
For what it's worth I did better on XBLA than I did on Wiiware.
No idea why.
This game is crap.
You're crap. Ha!
I don't think you had a childhood. It was all Ender's Game training for bitching on the internet.
They put a small team together to work for 3 weeks on an NES shitter, and people call that fan service
You know what fan service is? Putting effort into a new game instead of making some 8 BIT FIDELITY ENGINE
Did you play the game, bitch? It kicks the shit out of 8. Which was what you apparently want in HD.
No, Megaman should have stopped at 2.
The game controls well with the 360 controller. Unfortunately I suck at this game which is strange because 2 and 3 were cakewalk for me. It's on par with 1 for difficulty which means it'll be pretty rewarding once I start kicking ass.
Word, looks like I will be getting it on XBL (even though I plan on getting 0 achievements) after I beat the game I'm playing.
Nostalgia is garbage, but I'll probably still mostly like this game anyway.
It seems like an alright game, but it's an obvious cash in. Plus I don't think it looks as good as the older ones.
I can't wait until Doom 4 looks like Wolf 3D, the fans will dig it
I'm having a hard time figuring out how somebody can say with a straight face that either MM2 or MM3 are better than this game.
Things MM2 does better than MM9:
1) Some of the music.
2) _________________
The level design is better. More of the weapons are useful for normal gameplay, but none of them are as broken as the Metal Blade. I'm having a hard time coming up with anything to complain about. It's pretty much everything I wanted in a Mega Man game.
Yeah, seriously. I really hope there is something on the drawing boards for a Mega Man 10.
ding ding ding! that's my main problem with 2. the games after seem to focus on the regular buster outside of boss battles. it's good to hear that the weapons are usefull in other places. the timed boss challenges seem like the ones they've had in the battlenetwork and starforce series. in those games you're rewarded with a stronger version of a boss summon attack.
and i don't know if i want a megaman 10. i mean...just give us some level making and new characters.
I think the odds that this has already garnered a healthy profit and a lot of positive buzz + street cred for Capcom are pretty good, so a follow up is likely.Quote:
