This is so truth. When did everything have to be a chain? Even the smaller chains were nice but they either got obliterated or absorbed.
One facet of my youth was the mom & pop video rental store. It was great having a few of them around because they all had different selections of games to rent (depending on what distributor they used). Then Blockbuster came and wiped them all out with a vengenance.
