What Is Your Most Hated Movie?

What's the one movie which is not just bad or a waste of time, but you downright hate with a passion?

For me, it's Igby Goes Down with Kieran Culkin released in 2002. It's a pretentious piece of shit about "a rebellious and sarcastic 17-year-old boy, is at war with the oppressive world of his East Coast "old money" family" (stolen from Wikipedia). This is like a Wes Anderson film with anything redeeming sucked out of it, and Claire Danes plays a skank called "Sookie" and features a sex scene between Amanda Peet and Culkin. I can't believe that anyone could compare this with JD Salinger, as some have done on IMDB.

My most hated is Mission to Mars. Just absolute shit, top-to-bottom. It's so bad that they had to show the ending in the trailer just to make it seem exciting. The origin of life on Earth is from Mars? Wow! Sounds like a neat premise for a movie! Wait, that was the revelation they come to in the end?

The Village - It was just plain stupid. Also destroyed all confidence I had in M. Night Shyamalan as a film maker.

Ecks vs. Sever - I always thought that explosions and gunfights would keep me entertained, regardless of how bad everything else was. This movie was a slap upside the head.

There's a lot of vanilla Really Bad movies out there, but I wouldn't really say I hate them. I just don't really think about 'em a day or so afterwards.

It takes special qualifications to bring out hate for a movie, IMO.

Anything with that douchebag Richard Gere in it

Pretty much. I'm trying to think of a movie I actually hate and it's pretty tough. In fact, I don't think there's really many "bad" movies I actively dislike, especially because I often find those entertaining in their own unintentional way.

Star Wars Episode I is the closest thing I can think of off-hand, as it's a lot of bad writing that's badly acted from bad direction in a series I otherwise quite enjoy. Since the whole thing is a continuous story it makes it much harder for me to just pretend it doesn't exist like I can do with other series.

I'd say in general any movie I hate has to be a sequel. Original property, no matter how bad or offensive it is, carries no past connection to me. I'm free to totally ignore it. The only way for a movie to anger me is to mess with the universe of a movie I already love.

No they aren't, maybe alone in the dark but not extinction. That piece of shit blew right past ironically good when she used her mind bullets to shoot the fire at the crows. While were on the subject I need to make it clear how much I hate apocalypse. This movie should have been seven different kinds of awesome. But what did we get? A giant foam rubber nemesis getting beat up by an emeciated ten year old boy.

Cloverfield actually had me seething at times. Good lord.

Transformers is a good call, too.

I also kind of want to say Layer Cake, but I can't quite remember anything about it so I probably don't hate it.

Dead or Alive (the miike one) was so ridiculously boring that the cute ending couldn't begin to make up for it.

Cloverfield really, really wanted to be a ride at universal studios, sadly that is not the case.

I can't possibly fathom how anybody could have hated Kung Pow, unless you also hate life. We went to see it at the dollar theater for "bad movie Tuesday," and it ended up being awesome.

I remember laughing at Kung Pow a lot. I'm going to agree with Phantom Menace. I've never been a real Star Wars fan so it's not like it ruined my childhood or anything. It's just a terrible movie. I think what bothers me the most is how so many people eat it up and ignore how boring and stupid it is. I've vowed to myself to never see any part of it again.

I haven't been able to get through Kung Pow yet. Which is odd, because I love "What's Up Tiger Lily?" / MST3K-type stuff .

Bad Boys 2. At first I thought I was watching a really unfunny action comedy that I almost walked out on, but then it surprised me by creating a new level of shittiness when Smith/Lawrence decide to illegally invade Cuba to rescue their sister/girlfriend. I still cannot believe the sequence where they're driving Hummers through an exploding coke villa (trust me, watching it is not as awesome as what I just typed).

Kung-Pow was horrible. In fact, everything that Oedekerk has produced is complete and utter trash perfectly tailored for the Transformers: The Movie lovers of America.

m. night shyamalan's the village and signs. i never understood why so many people thought shyamalan was a genius. he keeps trying to duplicate the success of sixth sense but just ends up making movies with poor concepts and retarded twists. the best he's done is an american express commercial.

i hated ace ventura: pet detective. it wasn't funny, but everyone acted like it was the best thing ever. so many people quoting and imitating that movie all over the place just made me loathe it. that same crap caused me to avoid dumb and dumber, the austin powers movies, and orgazmo.

star wars ep I. jar jar binks was one of the worst ideas ever. damn kids repeating his every line during the movie was just icing on the cake.

for the most part, i avoid movies i know i'm going to hate. i haven't seen dead or alive or bloodrayne because i really like the video games and know the movies are going to be horrid. unfortunately, i have seen resident evil: extinction, and that movie just goes from bad to worse at every turn until it reaches an amazingly godawful ending. i mean, what the hell?!

and i like mars attacks! it was funny and quite enjoyable. "they blew up congress!" :lol:

Ace sure as fuck didn't, though (saw the second one first, it was better IMO).

Austin Powers was great as a one-off flick until everyone and their grandmother saw it on video, show's over after that.
