That was awesome!

So, I finished up the human storyline and decided to watch the credits; Do they just loop the credits or is it just insanely long?
Somebody has a sick sense of humor if that was looped.
Fuck the last boss and fuck this game.
Apparently I have the 'wrong' team, and not enough infantry left after taking on the generals to deal with the Archdemon & his ragtag band of Darkspawn douchebaggery. And I'm not fucking replaying 3 hours just to see if I do it 'right' this time.
There's a wrong team?
Did you... not take a mage or something?
Why would you even need all your other forces for the Generals, shit if they don't all died you can even recall them.
WHY ARE YOU SO BAD
It's very possible to fuck yourself over at the end game.
So the Dragon Age expansion Awakening has been released. http://store.steampowered.com/app/47730/
It's expensive but at least it looks like Bioware still has it when it comes to expansion packs:http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/dr...akening-reviewQuote:
Let's remove any confusion from the start. Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening is not another piece of crappy DLC following the dismal inclusions we've seen since the BioWare RPG's release last November. This expansion is 25 hours of full-scale new content, essentially an entire new game, that picks up the story however you may have left it. It has a new setting, a (mostly) new crew of companions, new abilities, skills, spells and talents, and most importantly, a re-imagined approach that's appropriate to a shorter format while still achieving the necessary sense of scale.
9/10
I'd buy it now but I still haven't finished Origins.
GI's review seems to be less than glowing. I will wait to read more of people's opinions.
Wake me up when the Gold Edition is on Steam.
I need to pick it up asap. Though I need to restore my original game, since I had to replace Windows7 RC to retail.
Steam has DA:O on sale for like $30 today.
Anyone else playing this? I'm digging it (Also there's a respec book that's helpful!) though just put in an hour or two this morning.
I'm gonna wait on it. GameSpot and GI aren't giving it high marks, and $40 for a meh-to-okay expansion is a worse idea than $40 for the Best Thing Ever (Super SF4).
A 9/10 from eurogamer is all I need to see. I'll probably start playing after FFXIII/PAX
oooooh, snap! I'd like to know how you liked it after you're done. Liking it right out the gate isn't tough, but if it's good through and through I'd be more interested.
I'll let you know, I've been having second thoughts about continuing it with my original female dwarf rogue.
Installed it last night, yet had no time to start :(
What bothers me is that it seems my choice at the end of the game as to whom to go with mattered not at all at least so far. Good sentence I know but fuck what the hell.
If you don't mind the hardcopy version you can get this for $32 for PC from GoGamer: http://www.gogamer.com/viewproduct.h...xtid=March1810
My gamble is going to pay off after all. Now do the same with Mass Effect 2 please.
I'll trade in my copy and pick this one up again when it hits a low price.
My PC gaming kick is continuing and this is up on deck.
Anything, avoiding spoilers, that I should do to make this game better of the start? Or is this like every other game they've made were your discussions only sort of matter?
Go to the mage tower first if your character isn't a healer. That's the only really big thing that I wish I had done
I don't know much about this game, but I know enough about me to know I won't be a healer.
Good looking out.
It's a double-edged sword. You get the most useful party member ever but oh god is she dull.
Wynne is so fucking terrible
I wanna play this... I don't have a gaming PC though. :( Stupid condo...
I actually made a character into a healer once, it really wasn't that bad since you control your entire party.
I went to the Nexus site for this but I don't seem to find many alteration mods for visuals and interface.
I don't know if that means this game did a better job out of the box than Bethesda games do or if the mod community just had other ideas in mind. Everything is either about better sex cut scenes or completely remodeling every NPCs face.
It's certainly not the prettiest game but I never really thought any mods were necessary.
All you need to know is that cone of cold > everything.
I think I was using some UI mod that took better advantage of a high resolution monitor. The default menus are in an tiiiiiiiiiny little window on my screen. Oh oh and something that altered item tooltips so I would know which gift goes where.
Then I stopped playing it because screw this game.
I somewhat dislike that my responses to chat are way tiny and in the bottom corner of the screen. I have a 24in monitor, they could stand to be bigger.
This healer chick is somewhat over powered right now. I have her set up to priorities healing and then shoot bolts when everyone is solid, is that basically the best way to leave her?
The Fade is negative fun and I almost just want to stop fucking playing.
I go into a room and two casters freeze me in place as soon as I knock down the door and kill me before I move. Took like four times for me to get past them. In another room there was an Ogre and the game was all "fuck you bro, you NEVER get to stand back up and attack". This game would be a lot more fun if it would just let me play it.
EDIT: Also, is it just me, or is putting a really long dream sequence in the middle of a dungeon not doing the story any favors? I mean, how am I supposed to give a shit about this mage tower when I'm spending so much time in fucking Narnia?
The Fade was downright, my least favorite part of the game. I love the idea of the Fade, but the different areas kind of really sucked.
Please tell me I only have to go there the once. I just finished mage tower, no more fade, right?
I don't think so. BTW, there is a useful mod called Skip The Fade. Might want to look into it for replays.
Not that you should replay it or anything.
I've replayed it at least twice, this mod sounds amazing. Seriously the Fade is a cool idea, but the execution there was particularly boring. I would like to see more of the Fade but in a much better way. In fact when the Expansion takes you to the fade it's done right.
I saw that skip the fade thing, I will likely get it.
The werewolf arc ended so fucking well.
Anytime a storyline ends with a naked chick with huge tits, it's a good way to end it
There any good resources for tactics builds? I can't find anything definitive so I'm assuming not.
Also if you make Wynne a blood mage and have her use cleansing Aura and then just heal herself it's a pretty dick move and also totally broken.
Finished it, sold it thinking I'd get the Ultimate Whatever Bullshit Edition...it's been about 2 months and still zero compulsion to go get it. It was fun the first go around, but does any of the DLC even add anything worth slogging through the game again?
Just wait for the EXTREME sequel, where every button push will EXPLODE with AWESOME.
No that's the Michael Bay edition
Seriously though - I read Return to Ostogard was bad, the last one was awful, but don't know much outside of reviews.
Return to Ostagar was awful. You literally walk in, find the Kings crucified body, fight the same old darkspawn + ogres as usual, get the dead King's armor and some of Duncan's stuff and that's it. Warden's keep was a little bit better than that and worked itself into the story pretty well, but still nowhere near as great as what Mass Effect 2 has to offer.
I haven't played any of the others but from what I've read they don't fare much better. The little I played of Awakening seems like it was a solid, completely separate story and would probably be a much better choice if you were just looking for more content.
Thanks - I was most interested in Awakening. Maybe I'll still pick this up...
