Cable?

I have Cable for Center Ice, Man vs Wild, Axe Men, the Millitary Channel and the Food Network. I honestly watch more movies (via Netflix or theatre) than tv. There is just too much "reality" shit on anymore. I wish Cable or satellite would even tually go a-la-carte so i only had to pay for 5 or 6 channels.

That would be awesome. My cable bill would be microscopic.

I don't have any cable. Sometimes I miss it, but there's a lot of shows I hate to like and I just feel dirty watching them.

I miss Top Chef, Ninja Warrior, and the discovery channel.

I didn't have cable for years til moving in here, and I really like it. Mostly because the Encore channels and IFC will almost always have something I want to watch on at night, and there's a lot of other good trashy shows I enjoy. It is ridiculously expensive and I do wish we could pick and choose channels, though. The original Iron Chef is back on Fine Living, so is Molto Mario, and we don't get it. :(

You didn't miss much with the last season of Top Chef, Rated E. It kinda sucked.

I understand from my roomate that Survivorman is "the business". That's the one where he sets up his own cameras and everything?

Yep, out in the wilderness for seven days, alone, no food, little survival gear, and about 100 pounds of audio/video equipment.

So if you see him climb a cliff on the show, he had to climb it twice. Once to get a shot of him going up the cliff, then climb down, get the gear, and carry it back up!

That man vs. wild show is all film crews and pre-set situations and editing. Heck, dog sleeps in hotels most of the time, then they all film him "waking up" on the cold artic tundra.
