good question dude and while yes most of my tattoos are usually a media reference of some sort, I have two that aren't. My very first tattoo I got was when I was 13yrs old, a friend of my Dad's who was a tattoo artist put the letter "E" with a star around it on the top of our right big toes. It was my Dad's idea and it's the one that means the most to me, I don't normally tell people about it though.

The other one was the first one I got on my own when I was 18, it's the tribal Harley on my left arm. My Dad died when I was 15, he was a big biker type guy and I got it as a tribute to him. He was big into tattoos and had a lot, which I think it's one of the reasons I have so many of my own now. Those are the ones that mean the most to me :)

it's not an actual Harley, I guess I could have just said motorcycle instead and yeah the one on my toe was just something my Dad put together on the spot, nothing really flashy about it
