Your annoying!
The debate on which company is winning this generation is nothing new and has been going on even before the PS3 came out. Fact of the matter is, unless one company loses far too much money and has to pull out, it doesn't mean shit.
All 400k systems in the US were not sold because of MGS. Taking into account that the PS3 was averaging at best close to 150k - 200k a month, and that the Bundle accounted for around 250 - 260k units, in the PR it was said that taking the bundle into account MGS4 sold 1 million units well if did 740 - 750k on its own well we know how much the bundle sold. Its easy to see that MGS4 accounted for around 250 - 260k more PS3s sold so far. When you factor in that the bump in Japan was even smaller, and shorter lived than in the US, its really not that hard to come to the conclusion that MG4 added 400k - 500k units to the PS3 total.
400 - 500k isn't that huge of a bump, I mean fuck the Wii outsold it by that much last month alone. The PS3 needs to suddenly move millions more than its competitors for things to make a difference. At its current trends, and no this month is not a current trend, the PS3 wouldn't catch up to the 360 till sometime in like 2010 - 2011. WW the PS3 may be heading towards 2nd place, in the US though its pretty much locked in 3rd.
Because people are buying them?Quote:
even though the 360 somehow turned into the console with all the jRPGs
Wii 29.14 million
360 19.78 million
PS3 14.22 million

easy win imo
Why does the videogame community find reciting sales figures to be so fucking enthralling? You realize companies typically pay people for this brand of statistical devotion, yes?
VGChartz is a little ahead for all of them. He over estimates Europe alot.
This is based on NPD + MC numbers for Japan, and the shipping numbers we've been given in quarterly reports for Europe plus some estimating.
