Check out this auction. He says it's factory sealed, but I don't recall factory shrinkwrap having the creases that run lengthwise here. It looks like a really sloppy home job to me. Also, shouldn't there be folds at the corners?
Opinions?

seems legit to me.
Its legit, US SNES games had the seal that met in the back and went down vertically, my Harvest Moon had the same setup when I sold it on eBay.
its legit look at where the seams are in the shrink wrap
plus its not that uncommon
dont ask me why but weve been getting shipped a bunch of still new SNES games we got a whole lot of Zelda ones and Super Mario Kart i picked up both of them Zelda cause ihad borrowed my friends and never owend my own and mario kart cause of well the same reason
got both for about 10 bucks or so each
I honestly do not remember how the shrink looked on the last SNES game I purchased. But I do remember running with glee from the store with a copy of Ogre Battle in my hands after drooling over the layout in the issue of Gamefan.
Yeah.
Looks good to me, too.
I dunno how a home hackjob would produce the seam in the back (as the auction points out). Though if it's all a fake I guess the pictures could be fake as well.

Hmm. I was using CD shrinkwrap as a reference, but I guess they're not the same then. I've been looking for a complete copy of Zelda for so long. Where do you work Johnpv? Have you seen them that cheap anywhere else?
bingo. they do. the plastic that they would use on Nintendo game boxes was more stretchable and what not.Quote:

Hmmm...I dunno, its hard to say, looks legit enough to me but these days, whose to say?
PAL Super Nintendo games actually had wrap similar to CD games as in it had heavier wrapping and a strip around the bottom. I don't know if every game had this or just the more recent ones, my new Terranigma had it and it was pretty cool because it said Nintendo all along the strip, sort of like the Japanese Playstation games that say Playstation along the strip :)Quote:

I clearly remember using the crease on the back of my new snes games to open them. Although I do remember a lot of crazy things. It seems legit to me, just don't much more then $20 for it.
Silly KOEI SNES games, why won't they drop below 20 bucks, even the bad ones?
just let Shinobi buy it.
you know you want it
i say bid on it dont bid more than say 20 bucks though
i dont know where else you could find one
i know in PR they just have the one gamestop right i mean if you havent seen it there like they havent gotten any shipments then i dont know
we got ours a few months ago had a whole bunch at one point liek a good 10 - 20 of them and a couple other games
I used to reshrink a lot of games at my old job, and could recreate the line down the back. I think most people are just lazy, so they don't bother with it. The game looks real to me though, look at the corners. Those are the hardest part to get right and the shrink there looks perfect. You can also tell if it's a reshrink by the feel of the plastic, but i guess that won't help you in this case.Quote:

The last factory-sealed SNES game I've purchased was Metal Combat. I would also like to point out that (Super) Famicom games were never factory-sealed like their (S)NES counterparts and if you happen to stumble into a shrinkwrapped Famicom game, it was most likely done by the guy who's selling the game.
yeah that looks real to me. i remember seeing Zelda at funcoland new but those were the million seller ones.

looks like a reseal to me. That seam which the seller claims gives the item credibility can be done on most resealing machines. I worked in a printing warehouse when I was 14 and IO worked one for 3 weeks straight and they all can make seams like that.
hmmmm...others beg to differ.

I'm not saying that SNES games don't have that crease...I'm just saying that that crease is not an SNES original seal exclusive. It's very easy to get a reseal job to look like that.
well, i guess someone is about to get royally f'ed over.
I agree... the bulk of this guys sales are sealed games and a suspicious amount of them are SNES games. Either this guy has hella warehouse connections or he's got himself access to an industrial shrink wrapping machine.
What the heck happened to this thread's title?
it looks like our threads combined forces
how did that happen?
By a power far greater than ours... THE MOD SQUAD! :)Quote:

I picked up a factory sealed Zelda, for $20 at a new Gamestop. This same store has 4 boxed Dreamcasts. Just looke for a new or recently opened store, and you'll find many of these games factory sealed. BTW, mine was the original, not a million seller. They also had Super Mario Kart there.
