Oxytocin. You also release a shitload of it when you orgasm. Women release a lot more. It may be responsible for the cuddle desire. Small amounts are also released on normal physical contact, like hugging.

Breast milk tastes funky and once your lady starts you can't play with her nipples anymore. It's messy and shit. However, yeah it's pretty much a must for raising a kid.

FUN FACT: My brother is gay and refused to breastfeed as an infant.

I sincerely doubt that breast milk makes a dumb kid smarter. Or that fake milk makes a smart kid dumber. It's all a fucking crap shoot from the XY cocktail your mom and dad gave you.

Genes are extremely important, but the notion that early infancy nutrition doesn't play a role in development seems archaic and foolish.
