I don't think this (non)announcement has been discussed here, and you guys have better knowledge of gaming history than I do. What RPG series meet these criteria: (1) published in Japan across multiple generations, (2) not previously published in US and/or by NIS America, and (3) popular enough to make hardcore gamers shit in their pants?

There are some obvious ideas that other message boards have been tossing around. I'm trying to think of some of the lesser ones.

Summon Night series? Sakura Taisen is out, being property of Sega. Super Robot Wars hasn't appeared due to the rights issues, and I doubt that's seriously changed. Far East of Eden... it's probably more likely, but no one will care.
