PAX 2008 is around the corner, and I'm wondering if anyone is going, because I'm tempted to fly out to Washington for this if I can find a cheap flight which is usually possible. Particularly if anyone is willing to put me up.
I'm also still thinking of hitting up Savannah Hub if you're around still, just gotta figure out when. This is tentative for me, but I figure with Comic Con passed it would be a good time to start a thread for PAX.
I'd like to go to PAX one of these days hopefully its not much longer before I'm living on the west coast and then it should be easier to get to. I'd start a whose going to Siggraph thread but I doubt any one else from here is.
I would love to go to Siggraph and pretend I can draw really well.
I've been to Siggraph. It's fun.
Siggraph is alot of fun. Specially if you can get into some of the studio parties. I'm not happy with some of the changes they made this year though. In the past they ran the animation stuff all day every day and you could just come in and check it out as you pleased. Then if you wanted to see just the best off it was a 50 dollar ticket, and every night was the same thing so you just had to go once. Now if you want to see all the animation stuff its 175 bucks for tickets to all 3 nights and each night is something different. Fuck that noise.
Since I'm moving to Redmond in a few weeks, I decided to pre-register and get my last licks of gaming before I'll be doing nothing but work in my graduate program.
If anybody comes out here you're welcome to give a holler. I couldn't be less interested in anything than the PAX but I give the best driving tour of the city (that's Seattle not Redmond or any other fruitcake east side bullshit) and can probably put one or two people up depending on when it is.
BTW, if I made a thread about an event I'd probably include details like when, where etc etc etc. WHY NOT?

August 29-31, but it looks like $400 bucks to fly out to Washington which is a bit more than I'm willing to pay at this point. I'll keep looking around but doubt I'll find some great prices :(
That sounds kinda cheap actually. My last trip to Michigan was almost that and my last trip to PA was more than that.
Yeah, I just know that I should be saving up money so I was hoping for an exceptional price like less than $300 lol

Found one for $307, from Wed the 26th to Sun the 31, Seems to be as cheap as possible, so now I have to think if I can really afford it. v.v

It was a fun experience. The panels were pretty good, I got a Street Fighter #0 comic with Joe Ng drawing of Makoto on the back cover, and got a lot of playtime with Gears of War 2 and some other titles. Seeing the One-Ups and Freezepop perform at the concert was also cool.
I would consider attending again next year.
