there's a lot more to it than Canabalt (also a great game). Gravity affects the angle of the shots. The gun doesn't hold a maximum charge so you have to time your releases right. There's also the states of the enemies to consider (bigger eyes = better chain reactions). The screen can fill with enemies but there's always a way to crowd-control and as you play the game you learn how to do this. It's a cliche but it really needs to be played to understand everything it does right.

I like that you basically have this infamous, verbose critic of videogames who actually made a great game. Could Roger Ebert ever make a great movie?
