Demo is short but the game seems nice. Looks and plays well and the control (PS3 version) was good. The detective mode is neat too. I'll try out the pc demo tomorrow if it does come out and see how my pc handles it.
Tried the demo. Damned awesome. Joker's lines looked kinda...off though. Bad lip syncing or something.
With the PhysX stuff being added in at the end, will it be in the demo? I'm kind of thinking it won't be in there for testing, but I'll be happy to be proven wrong.Quote:

PC demo for those who wanna try that version. Its two freakin gigs for some reason. PhysX and 3D Vision adds that much to the size?? yeesh.. I'll download it tomorrow.
Going detective mode and taking out armed enemies without being seen is fun as hell. The combat is definitely meh though.
Inverted takedowns are fucking ridiculous.

When you have an enemy tied up from the gargoyles and wait for another baddie to get close. Cut the wire with the batarang and both enemies will be taken out.
Okay that demo was pretty cool. I agree that the melee combat was meh, but the stealth reminded me a lot of the more sadistic ways you can get through Splinter Cell. So awesome.
By the way, the 360 demo is up too.
That was a lot of fun, but I definitely agree that straightforward beating on thugs is kind of dull. Stealth takedowns, however, are fast and a lot of fun to set up. I also managed to drop a trussed-up goon on top of another for the takedown, which was instant win.
Out of curiosity I downloaded the PC demo and turned on the PhysX settings to medium. It ran fine with no slowdown at all on my 8800GT and looked fantastic, and also automatically detected and configured my 360 pad, but the PhysX wasn't that impressive. Some pillars broke, papers swirled, and the only really neat effect was the steam. It's nice, but I think the combination of the deluxe version, earlier release, and super-comfy chair/tv combo means I'll be sticking with my PS3 order.
Unless someone says my card will burst in to flames if I give it a shot, I'll try maxed PhysX effects tomorrow night. I've played the demo three times tonight, though, and that's enough for now.

Because I have no life, I tried out both the PC and 360 demos. I think the PC one is significantly better. There are higher resolution textures and way better lighting effects. I even prefer the mouse + keyboard controls to the mappings on the 360 pad. I tried it with both PhysX on and off. There's about a 10fps difference between maxed PhysX and none. Quite frankly, I don't think any of the effects were significant enough to be worth the performance hit.
I'm very tempted to just buy this on PC, but I think I'm still going to be lame and wait for it to show up for half price on Steam or whatever - especially since they decided to be lame and make those Joker bonus rooms a PS3 exclusive. Doesn't make me want to spend money on their game when I'll be getting a content-deprived version.

I remember using a Joker pattern that involved me punching him, which makes him blink and not hit me as he runs through me. It wasn't too hard and then you just throw the fucker off the building (like my old, old avatar =] shit I might bring that back).
The sound effects and music were awesome for NES Batman as well, I still remember most of it.

The Demo of this game is awesome.
The demo was lots of fun, but the combat seemed sort of off, maybe too easy. But, I don't think it was a good demonstration of what could, possibly, be done. It could be more fun if the bad guys were smarter or there were like 40 of them (which I hope there is at one point).

Played this last night. Lot's of fun, my only gripe is with the camera, it tended to follow a bit too closely at times.
I hate the combat in the demo, love the stealth. Must get when it's 20 dollars.
I wasn't bothered by the camera, but my friend Ryan really hated it - saying it followed too closely. I didn't mind it though - it didn't get in the way of anything I tried to do except for not being in a great place during combat. The stealth stuff was just about perfect; I'm horrid at MGS/Splinter Cell-style games, but I didn't have a problem with this. You have to be stealthy, but not TOO stealthy like those games. Thank God the bad guys here appear to lack peripheral vision.
The camera did take some getting used to, but I actually liked the combat and the stealth sections which I'm glad weren't overly complex . Bottom line I had fun with it which is all that really matters.

GameInformer gave this game a 9.5 which I refuse to believe. The demo had a garbage camera and combat. Seemed alright but not 9.5 good. We'll see.
Someone with a leaked copy put some videos up on youtube of boss fights, one was A GIANT FUCKING GODZILLA SIZED SCARECROW that looked pretty awesome.
I can't wait for this game next week.

Just played for like 4 hours straight. The game is pretty awesome. Seems pretty long. My percentage complete is only like 23%, but I think that includes all the shit you can collect. No real complaints about anything. Music, sound,control, graphics, and story are all really nice. One minor complaint is you do spend a good chunk of time in vents and pulling off vent covers.
If your kinda a Batman fan, you might as well buy it.
I batcaved and preordered the PS3 collector's edition off Amazon. The little leather case with the journal in it interests me more than the batarang actually.
Spider-Man 2, Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction, the X-Men Legends/Marvel Ultimate Alliance series (and Justice League Heroes) if you like dungeon crawlers, Capcom's Marvel-based fighting games... and the PSone Spider-Man game was pretty great for its time, though it definitely doesn't hold up.Quote:
