Not going to get any where I am at but now I have to work this weekend in case we get some relief planes etc. I am so tired of these hurricanes.
Hey, g/f and I are fine, we're in a 1 story brick structure in a place without a history of flooding. We'll be warcrafting the storm out.
Hope everyone in the path of the hurricane is alright - stay safe, guys.
Everyone thought CA was going to fall into the ocean, but it turns out it's Texas.
The storm surge is already hitting the Texas shore. They expect a storm surge of 20+ to hit the Galveston Bay and into Houston. And most of the houses are not Hurricane proof.
It could strengthen to a Category 3 by the time it hits.
Its not supposed to hit till Late Friday night or early Saturday, but these are pics already from the storm surge ... in Galvaston.
These pics are of a 19 foot storm surge. When it hits ... its supposed to be 30-50 they are reporting now. Mars I know you are in Houston and you are sitting it out ... I pray you are safe.
actually i'm out west in the suburbs, surrounded by levees and a pumping system that has taken a cat 4 with only a few hours of flooding that didn't affect the houses.
G/f and I survived, 140 mph winds and rain at the house, and the street didn't even flood. Power went out at 8:40 pm central time and came on 7:50 pm central the next day. Glad to be back.
had to clear a couple of larger tree branches out of the yard though. HOA contracted some clean up crews with mulchers before the thing hit. Power guys followed right behind them. Yay small rich neighborhoods!
