I've read/seen it done somewhere, which I can't place at the moment. Probably el buli, I'll flip thru my 2 books and see.

As for josh's questions, I can't really recommend any knifes since it all depends on what you want to do. Plus I've never really splurged on a super nice knife. I do want me a nice 3 stone knife sharpener, which I can never seem to find around here. I did see this one coolish knife holder that looked like a body once. I'll see if I can dig that up.

You need no other knife.

I've been pickling a bone-in turkey breast (which would more accurately be described as a turkey torso) for a week to make corned turkey. I just rinsed it and put it into the pot to simmer for quite a while. My fingers are crossed that it turns out well. I love corned beef, but it's pretty terrible for you with how fatty the brisket is. So I'm really hoping this works well as a homemade alternative.

edit: This was a huge success. My daughter even asked for seconds, which she almost never does. And we didn't even finish half of it, so I'm going to make some hash and sandwiches with the leftovers.

I bought a cast iron dutch oven last week on a whim. I have chili in the oven right now, with bonus flavor from two smoked neckbones. Otherwise everything in it is pretty conventional.

My dad is a machinist. I'm thinking about making a knife now.

After thinking about it for some time, culminating in my recent viewing of Forks Over Knives, I am going to try out a plant-based diet plan. Anyone have any good links to vegetarian recipes online?

Here's one from my vegan friend. She provided Opaque with a dessert recipe. She also works at a Vegan only restaurant in Philly. Her recipes are awesome.

There is this magazine called Vegetarian Times. I get a lot of ideas from it. Check and see if it is online? How much cooking experience do you have?

Most of the vegetarian recipes I have found online are written by fatties that think eating vegetables deep fried in butter is healthy.
